Our "Easy Install" package for steel pedestrian gates with posts is delivered as a one-piece unit. You simply dig your post holes, place the posts in the holes at the desired depth and, of course, plum (straight up and down). The posts should be set in cement for maximum strength. Once the cement is dry, you'll need to cut the steel tabs which connect the top of the gate to the posts. There is one tab at each top corner or two tabs in total. Just below the gate there is a 1/4" flat bar welded to each post. You'll need to cut this bar off at each end. It is possible you may need to grind smooth these areas from which you have cut off the tabs and the 1/4" flat bar. Then you will need to touch up the paint in these areas with the paint provided as part of the package.
All you need to do now is install the knob/handle and/or dead bolts you have purchased into the lock box on the gate.
This is an easy way to accomplish a professional and strong installation, but it's not for everyone. Some may not have the tools or may simply prefer to not tackle this steel cutting and grinding job.
In that case, the "Easy Install" package is still a smart way to purchase your gate, and finding a local tradesman who can perform the installation should not be at all difficult. Good luck - and have fun!
